A Vision of Excellence in Sugar Production and Co-generation Belgaum Sugars Pvt. Ltd., a 100% subsidiary of Satish Sugars Ltd., operates from its state-of-the-art facility located in Hudali village, Belagavi district, just 20 km from the city of Belagavi. Spanning over 50 acres, the plant comprises a sugar production unit and a cogeneration unit, reflecting the company's commitment to sustainable energy practices and efficient production.

Sugar Unit: Initially Tthe sugar unit boasts an impressive processing capacity of 3,500 TCD (Tons of Cane per Day), where advanced technologies ensure optimal output while maintaining high-quality standards.

Cogeneration Unit: The plant's cogeneration unit has a robust power generation capacity of 14 MW, utilizing sugarcane waste to produce renewable energy.

The groundbreaking ceremony for the plant was held on November 20, 2015, marking the official commencement of construction and installation. The management team oversaw all aspects of the project, including vendor selection, commissioning, and contractual agreements, ensuring complete transparency at every stage.

After a swift construction phase, the plant began operations on November 2, 2016, and impressively exceeded its capacity within just five days. On November 6, 2016, the plant crushed a record 4,158 MT of sugarcane, surpassing 100% of its designed capacity. This achievement marked the first time in India that a project of this scale had been completed and operational within just 11 months.

Sugar and Cogeneration Unit Expansion: In 2022, Belgaum Sugars Pvt. Ltd. expanded its capabilities with an upgrade to its sugar and cogeneration unit. The expansion saw the capacity increase from 3,500 TCD to 10,000 TCD in Sugar and 14 MW to an impressive 38.3 MW in Cogeneration unit, utilizing sugarcane waste to generate clean, renewable energy. The part of electricity produced is sold to HESCOM (Hubli Electricity Supply Company) under a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) and remaining on Energy Exchange and is distributed to rural areas, contributing to energy access in underserved regions.
